Boss Omer Riza says Cardiff City don't have to sell players before bringing in any more new signings ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Bluebirds have so far added two new players in January but are targeting more before the end of the window on Monday 3 February.

And those new additions are not dependant on the club moving players out first according to the manager.

"We know what we want to do and hopefully one or two more will enter the building before the window closes," Riza said.

"There's a couple of little obstacles in the way in respect of parent clubs and fixtures that are taking place at the moment and we're having to be a bit more patient.

"So hopefully one or two more."

After signing Sivert Mannsverk on loan from Ajax, fellow midfielder Manolis Siopis is set to leave the club and return to Greece to join Panathinakos.

When asked if more new signings were dependant on departures first, Riza said that wasn't the case

"All our players are good players and are working hard and doing well," he added.

"There's always going to be interest from other clubs."

"At the moment, there is interest from the other clubs and we'll see how that plays out.

"There's nothing solid that's happened yet so we'll have to wait and see on those ones.

"All these players, whether they leave the building because they potentially want to move back home or whether they want to do things for their family or we feel it's the right time for them.

"We've all got good relationships and we're all speaking all the time and making sure that everything's right for everybody.

"That's including the club, the player, ourselves as a team and that's the only time the players will move on."

36-cap Greek international Siopis is one of Cardiff's biggest earners and now finds himself down the pecking order after defender Calum Chambers successful switch to midfield.

But Riza was tight lipped about his future ahead of the trip to Championship leaders Leeds on Satiurday.

"Lets say for instance that Siopis was the one to go," he added.

"We have enough there to be able to continue and be very fruitful in that area.

"But for me, if Siopis was to stay, he's done a great job, he's brilliant around the place and has got a great attitude and character.

"I'm happy if it potentially works both ways so we'll just see how far along the line we go with that if he's here or not."

Riza enjoys "smooth" first window

This is Boss Riza's first transfer window since becoming Cardiff manager in September, initially on an interim basis.

And he believes it's been a "smooth" process so far after bringing in Mannsverk and striker Yousef Salech.

"The board have been brilliant in respect of giving us what we need and everyone's working really hard to make sure it can happen," Riza said.

'I've really enjoyed it [the transfer window], I think it's been quite smooth, I haven't really got flustered with anything.

"Obviously there's disappointments along the way.

"But I think at the moment we've brought in two very good players for the future of the club.

"One, granted, is on loan but you never know what can happen further down the line and if we finish the season strong.

"Salech is obviously in the building now and the two more that will come in."
