I can't praise Bodvarsson enough - Bowyer
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson's aura and ability have lifted his Burton Albion team-mates around him, says manager Gary Bowyer.
The 32-year-old former Iceland forward has scored three goals in three games since moving to Pirelli Stadium from Wrexham mid-January.
He scored two in Saturday's 4-2 victory against Rotherham, having marked his first start for the Brewers with a goal in their win at Wigan Athletic four days earlier.
Those victories have lifted Burton off the bottom of the League One table to within one spot and six points of safety.
"I can't praise him enough," Bowyer told BBC Radio Derby.
"The impact that he has had since he arrived last Thursday, the impact when he first came on [in his debut at Crawley] and the impact of him starting and scoring.
"He is one of those players, with the wonderful career he has had so far, our lads look around and go 'wow, you are a proper pro and proper player'. They have tapped into him and he has actually delivered it as well."
Bodvarsson was part of the Iceland side that knocked England out of the European Championship in 2016 - a victory famously described as one that "shocked the world".
Before moving to Bolton in 2022, he spent much of his career playing in the Championship with Millwall and Reading after first moving to English football with Wolves from German club Kaiserslautern.
Bowyer says the experienced forward has quickly delivered with both goals and influence since being brought in to help Burton try to fight their way out of the relegation zone.
"I don't want to call him an old-fashioned number nine because it's not trendy is it, but he is that," Bowyer said.
"You see the effect he has had on Rumarn [Burrell] in terms of teaching how to play centre-forward as well. And that's why we wanted to bring him in.
"And then at the end you can see the impact he has had with the supporters - it is just fanatic that they have taken him in so quickly, and that is based on his performances. He is a wonderful man."
