LeBron James’ son, Bronny, sent social media into a frenzy with a thunderous breakaway dunk during a European tour game on Monday.

The 17-year-old, who is competing for the California Basketball Club (CBC) on the AXE Euro Tour, drew comparisons to his superstar father with a savage one-handed poster slam against the Under 18 French Select team.

Even LeBron himself was left in shock by the ridiculously athletic play from his eldest son, simply tweeting ‘OH MY GOODNESS BRONNY!!!!!’ in response to seeing the dunk.

The viral highlight also caught the attention of the who’s who of the basketball world, with Steph Curry, Ja Morant, Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Crawford among those who shared the play on their Twitter feeds.

Bronny finished with a game-high 25 points, despite CBC losing the contest 97-85.

LeBron’s second child and Bronny’s younger brother, Bryce, is also part of the CBC team currently touring Europe. The tour is the first time the pair have appeared on court together, prompting an emotional tweet from their father last week.

“Man I'm literally watching Bronny and Bryce on the court together for the first time in a game situation!! This is INSANE!! I'm EMOTIONAL AF!! WOW,” LeBron said.

Bronny James courted by NBL for professional career

Bryce is a 6-foot-6 guard/forward set to graduate high school in 2025.

Bronny is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard about to enter his final year of high school at Sierra Canyon. Has already received offers from top US colleges such as UCLA, USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon.

Reports have also linked Bronny with a move to Australia, with the possibility of spending a season playing professionally in the NBL before entering the NBA draft.

Should Bronny end up in the NBL, there has been speculation his father may join him, given his desire to play alongside his oldest son before retiring from the sport altogether.

“My last year will be played with my son,” LeBron told The Athletic earlier in the year.

“Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

Sydney Kings owner Paul Smith has already made his pitch the get the superstar family to the Harbour City.

“There’s only one city that’s big enough for LeBron and Bronny, and that’s Sydney,” Smith told the Sydney Morning Herald in March.

“We’d fill 18,000 seats every week.”
