Fans have questioned why Mike Tyson was allowed to appear on a live interview after the former heavyweight champion became incoherent and slurred his words.
Tyson, 54, appeared on Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid’s Good Morning show in his endless promotional tour ahead of his long-awaited return to the ring against Roy Jones Jnr for charity.

But the live television interview took a turn when Tyson became lethargic and mumbled over his words.
“I just wanna do this, I plan on doing this for a charity (inaudible),” Tyson said to one question.
“And I think I’m capable of doing that and that’s what I wanna do.”
At one point, Tyson appeared to close his eyes and drop his head during the interview.
Tyson, who has undergone an incredible body transformation losing 60kg to get fit for his boxing return, said it was exhaustion that got to him.
“Hey mate … I tried to stay up late for interview but fell asleep and like a lion I’m hard to wake once asleep,” Tyson tweeted to Morgan after the interview.
“Training hard and going to bed early. I had no monitor so I couldn’t see you guys and forgot to look into camera.”
Hey mate @piersmorgan @GMB @susannareid100 and UK. I tried to stay up late for interview but fell asleep and like a lion I'm hard to wake once asleep. Training hard and going to bed early. Morgan replied: “No problem, Champ.”
“We could see you were a bit weary! It was very late in LA. Appreciate this message as some viewers were concerned.”
After the interview, fans were clearly worried about Tyson’s health.

Piers Morgan slammed for Tyson interview
Talk Radio’s Mike Graham took aim at Piers Morgan for going ahead with the interview when it was clear Tyson was in no state.
“I’m going to ask him (Morgan) when I see him ‘did you get this wrong?’” Graham said.
“What on earth were the producers thinking?
“I have producers here … if they had seen the state of Mike Tyson they would have said ‘we can’t put him on, he’s going to look ridiculous, it’s not going to be helpful, it’s going to look like we are trying to make something out of this and are proving ourselves to be the wrong kind of journalists’.
“This man is clearly not in a fit state to be on television … his head falls down at one point in the interview.”
