Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has offered rugby league great Paul Gallen some praise after seeing his foray into boxing.

Fury is set to take on Deontay Wilder in the most highly-anticipated heavyweight boxing clash of 2021.

To help promote the fight, the undefeated 'Gypsy King' joined Ben Damon on Main Event to talk about his clash with the American.

And in a surprise moment, Fury shelled out some praise for Gallen.

The former rugby league great made his way into boxing after his retirement.

And after a number of wins, Gallen most recently fought rising Australian heavyweight Justis Huni.

Huni won the fight convincingly, but Gallen showed tremendous guts to hang with the rising star of Australian boxing.

And the bout didn't go unnoticed.

When asked about if any Australian boxers had caught his attention, Fury said he watched the Huni and Gallen fight.

"Paul Gallen's very gutsy. He's got some ball on him," Fury said during an interview on Main Event.

Fury also reserved some praise for Huni and Joseph Goodall.

"I managed to watch young Joe spar recently, and he looks good," Tyson added.

"He looks a very talented, young guy."

Tyson Fury ready for Deontay Wilder trilogy

The trilogy bout, Fury won the rematch after a controversial first fight draw, is nearly three years in the making.

Fury dominated Wilder in the second fight, which finished with Wilder's team throwing in the towel.

Wilder went on to make numerous accusations to why he lost the fight, but appears in good physical shape for the trilogy.

However, Fury claimed his camp has been as good as he could have hoped for leading into the title bout and has predicted another KO.

If Fury to win the fight, it could set up a title unification bout with the winner of the potential rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

Usyk shocked the boxing world and dominated Joshua in their title bout in London.
