‘Dream Team’ loves to watch Patty Mills play

He earned around $52m last year, he has five NBA championship rings a gold medal and is a 14-time NBA all-star - Kobe Bryant knows what he is talking about and he sees a big future for Australia's Patty Mills.

"Patty Mills keeps getting better and better every time I face him, see him," says Bryant. "He's a fantastic player and really showed up to perform."

"He's going to be getting a lot more game time.

The Boomers, boosted by an in-form Mills, exited London 2012 in the quarter-final stage at the hands of the newest edition of 'The Dream Team'. Team USA pulled clear in the fourth quarter to win 119-86 to leave a scoreline coaches of both teams thought was not an accurate reflection of the game.

"Mills had one of the outstanding of Olympics of any player. We beat a very good team tonight," said USA coach Mike Krzyzewski.

"We knew we were going to play a very athletic, quick, well-coached team in Australia that was coming off a few good wins."

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony was left equally impressed by Mills at London 2012.

"He's been shooting the ball well - running that team - getting out into the open court and making the plays for everybody and himself."

"A guy like that can get up and down a basketball court and at any given time take a shot."

"You can tell right now he's developed a lot, I think that's all about an opportunity."

"He's an exciting player to watch. We love to watch him."

Oklahoma City point-guard Russell Westbrook said he couldn't pick the standout Boomer.

"You can;t single anyone out. They all play together, and for each other, they are very good as a team."

Mills finishes the tournament averaging above 20 points a game - his highest at any FIBA tournament he has competed in.

"It's a highlight," he said of the USA clash."But so is the whole tournament."

"I'm very proud of what we achieved and we have made huge strides under coach [Brett] Brown."

"We went into that against such a great team and we weren't intimidated."
