Lucky Lakers fan vows to buy mum car after $95k shot
A basketball fan has endeared himself to his mother for life after sinking an incredible half-court shot at a Los Angeles Lakers game.
30-year-old Jerald Acoba pocketed a cool $95,000 dollars after making the amazing shot before the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 116-102 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
When asked how he was going to spend the money, Acoba’s selfless response was instant.
"I'm going to buy a car for my mum," he said.
"She’s always been there for me when I need her."
"She’s always there to help me out. It’s my turn to repay the favor to her."
After sinking the shot Acoba shouted, "Ice in my veins!" as a tribute to D’Angelo Russell of the Lakers.

Acoba is the fifth winner of the Lakers-sponsored MGM Big Shot Jackpot since its inception in 2006.
Depending on what sort of car he plans on buying mum, Acoba might even have a little cash left over to spend on himself.
