NBA team's spelling mistake sparks hilarious Twitter war

Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap has become the latest NBA player victimised by a lack of attention to detail from his team's equipment staff.

The star player came out for his team's matchup with the Utah Jazz sporting a single L on the back of his jersey.

The Hawks did get things fixed up in short order.

But not before the Jazz — for whom Millsap played during the first seven years of his pro career — had a bit of fun with their opponents on social media:

I think you meant "speling bee," Jazz social media person. Shame you couldn't stick that landing. (Anding.)

Millsap overcame the inauspicious opening to his evening, posting a season-high 30 points on 13-for-23 shooting (4-for-8 from 3-point land) to go with 17 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 40 minutes of work, leading the Hawks to a 100-97 victory that improves Atlanta to 4-3 on the season.

That's the kind of performance that allows your team's social medial staff to get the last word:

Maybe the Hawks ought to mess up Millsap's jersey every night. Fewer Ls on the uniform, fewer Ls on the schedule.
