Andrew Bogut's stark warning for Josh Giddey amid NBA investigation
The Australian basketball legend has told the NBA youngster to learn from his social media blunder.
Australian basketball legend Andrew Bogut has given Josh Giddey some words of wisdom amid an NBA investigation into his alleged conduct. The NBA is currently looking into allegations that Giddey had inappropriate relations with a young woman.
As a result of the recent dramas, Bogut has told the Oklahoma City Thunder player to stay off social media and 'tighten his circle'. "It's just an absolute s***show as it is on social media. The damage has been done to his PR regardless of what the result is," Bogut said on his podcast.

"We've had trial by media over the last 30 years and now trial by social media is probably a hundred times worse. It’s just a messy situation. Josh hopefully learns a life lesson from this regardless of where it goes.
"Regardless of what comes out in the next week or two … all the memes and all this sh*t now, that’s going to be there forever. It’s hard to take it back on social media... It’s a valuable lesson of social media and not posting stuff on social media."
Bogut says Giddey must learn from the experience and focus his attention on his basketball career. "It’s a valuable lesson for Josh," Bogut said. "He's got to tighten his circle and calm down on those social activities that he does outside of basketball and focus on that because he’s only in this thing for 10 or 15 years."
Weet-Bix removes Giddey from all social media campaigns
The young Aussie has been pulled from all of Weet-Bix's social media campaigns as the NBA investigates his conduct. The 21-year-old is an ambassador for the iconic breakfast cereal but he has been removed from all of its social media accounts promoting the product.
Sanitarium explained the images were removed on Monday night due to the social media backlash the young Aussie had received. "We know how hard negative social media comments can be for anyone, especially for young athletes," a statement provided to Code Sports read.
"We removed promotional assets featuring Josh Giddey from our own channels out of a desire to minimise opportunities for negative commentary towards Josh while the NBA is looking into the current situation. It was not a precursor to any decisions on Josh’s contract as a Weet-Bix ambassador. We are still in contact with Josh’s management team and awaiting on the facts surrounding this matter."
