Aussie javelin thrower almost kills cameraman

Australian decathlete Cedric Dubler has admitted that he almost killed a cameraman after a javelin throw went wrong.

The Queenslander blamed a bad night's sleep for the errant throw which travelled only 15 metres but flew dangerously close to a cameraman on the left of the field.

"It didn’t go as planned," Dubler said.

"My body was starting to shut down. I don’t know what happened.

"The tail sort of hit the ground, it spun out and almost hit a cameraman. So a little bit embarrassing but I apologised to him and he was cool with it."

Dubler later took to Twitter, saying, "Almost killed a camera man. How embarrassing."

The 21-year-old finished 14th overall with a points tally of 8024.
