Steve Smith makes history with unbelievable Ashes feat
Steve Smith has showed his class to post his second big score of the match and in doing so joined one other Australian to pass 50 or more in six consecutive Ashes innings.
Smith looked unflappable as his partnership with Travis Head helped Australia ease to a comfortable lead on Day Four.
But Smith made history when he passed 50 to join Michael Hussey as the only Australian to score 50+ in six consecutive Ashes innings.
The Australian’s last six innings scores are 239, 76, 102*, 83, 144 and 50+.
Hussey achieved the feat in the last innings of the 09 Ashes series and the first five of the 2010-11 series.
Despite the top order’s struggles against the England attack, Smith was able to post his second big score of the match.

Smith's year in exile has failed to quench his insatiable appetite for runs and records with his second century of the Ashes series opener at Edgbaston.
Smith, who scored 144 in Australia's first-innings' total of 284, led the way for his side again on day four in Birmingham by moving to three figures in the second over after lunch as the tourists extended their lead to more than 140.
The New South Welshman become only the fifth Australian to register centuries in both innings of an Ashes Test when he hit a boundary off Stuart Broad's bowling.
He joins an illustrious list comprising Warren Bardsley, Arthur Morris, Steve Waugh and Matthew Hayden.
Moeen Ali tries to deceive Smith
Moeen Ali has produced a bizarre beam ball in an attempt to dismiss Steve Smith in the first over on Day four.
Ali was bowling the first over when Smith advanced down the wicket to get to pre-empt the delivery.
But Ali had other ideas and launched the ball over Smith’s head.
Smith attempted to bat the ball down but missed.
Fortunately for Smith everyone was taken by surprise and he was able to recover.
