BT Sport are “reviewing and discussing” their commentary plans for the Ashes in the wake of Michael Vaughan’s axing by the BBC.

Vaughan will not be part of the BBC’s coverage over a racist remark he allegedly made (and categorically denies) to Azeem Rafiq in 2009, due to a conflict of interest.

He is contracted to Fox Sports, however.

UK rights holders BT are taking Fox’s commentary feed, rather than sending their own team to Australia, but they said in a statement that they are “reviewing and discussing our commentary plans with Cricket Australia” in the wake of Vaughan’s naming.

Alternatives include setting up their own commentary team in London or taking a feed from Channel 7, the other Australian broadcaster.
