Arteta therefore does not go with the same XI which beat Wolves on Saturday.
Jakub Kiwior had a difficult first half at Molineux at left-back, however he recovered and was steady after the break. Takehiro Tomiyasu is fit though, after missing the win at Wolves with a knock picked up from the Bayern Munich game, and he comes back into the side.
Partey starts in midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, meaning Jorginho has to settle for a place on the bench against his former club.
Another former Chelsea ace, Kai Havertz, returns to his role as Arsenal’s centre-forward, while Leandro Trossard gets the nod on the left of the front three. Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli are among the substitutes.
Arsenal XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard
Subs: Ramsdale, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Jesus, Nketiah
