Arne Slot excited by Champions League with Feyenoord after Tottenham interest fails

Former Tottenham manager target Arne Slot has signed a new contract with Feyenoord, insisting: "I'm not done here yet".

The Dutch manager emerged as a leading candidate to become Spurs' new manager, and had expressed an interest in the job.

Talks between Slot and Feyenoord on Wednesday resulted in the manager deciding to stay put, while Standard Sport understands Feyenoord's demands of £15million for the manager and his coaching staff complicated Spurs’s pursuit.

Slot has now signed a one-year extension to his contract, and told the club's official website: "We have had a wonderful season with Feyenoord, with the championship as a wonderful reward for all the hard work that has been put in, but I really want to continue building.

"After the summer, an adventure awaits in the Champions League and there is a national title to defend. Enough to look forward to, so I am proud to be and remain Feyenoord's trainer in Rotterdam."
