Did Anthony Mundine just make his most ridiculous claim yet?

Anthony Mundine has made some outlandish claims over the years, but this might take the cake.

‘The Man’ is well-known for his trash-talk leading up to fights, and he was in fine form on Wednesday during a joint press conference with Jeff Horn for their bout in Brisbane on Friday night.

Mundine took the microphone at the end of a rather boring presser, and he didn’t disappoint.

“They’re all watching. They’re all watching me, baby. I’m the show, you know what I mean?” he said.

STARTLING: Horn’s camp makes big admission about Mundine

“I’m the show, I’m the main attraction. He’s boring. He’s like watching paint dry.

“I’m the character. I’m the personality. I’m the man that transcends sport, you know what I mean? That’s me!

“It doesn’t matter who they (the public) want to see win, it’s who’s gonna win. And it’s gonna be me.”

But then came one of his most ridiculous claims yet, as he referred to himself as “the best sportsman that has ever come out of this country”.

“They’re gonna see an electric fighting show. They’re gonna see the best that’s ever done it. The best sportsman that has ever come out of this country,” he said.

“You look at my resume, all that I’ve done in sports from the juniors up, no wonder why I played for St George. Never before, never again, and that’s what I truly believe.

“And you want to see the legacy of that on Friday night.

“I’m gonna put on a great performance and prove, out with the old generation, in with the new, baby.”

Mundine hit back at the expectation that Horn will knock him out.

“That’s what they’re supposed to think. That’s what they’re supposed to do,” Mundine said.

“(Glenn) Rushton and his team, Jeff’s team, have done a good job. They’ve made you believe the hype.

“I mean, he’s good at what he does, and he’s effective at what he does, but there’s levels to this s***, man.

“And he got found out against Crawford with levels. He’s gonna get found out again with me with levels. You feel me?

“They say he bangs heads, he leads a lot with his head. We’ve got a great referee in Phil Austin, make it a fair contest, he likes to lead with the head and hold a lot. We’re not wrestling. We’re fighting. Let’s fight. You wanna fight bro, let’s fight.

“I’m not thinking about what’s going to happen after, how I’ve said this is probably going to be my last fight. I’m not thinking about any of that.

“I’m thinking about what I’m gonna do. And I know he ain’t gonna do s***. My skills are too good, man. We’re gonna see, man, you’re all gonna see.”
