Siciliano also thanked friends, fans and colleagues who offered words of support after learning Siciliano tested positive Sunday. He said those words of encouragement helped him get through the past couple days.
While Siciliano doesn’t explicitly say he’s going to return to action Sunday, it certainly seems like that’s the case. Siciliano said he’s cleared to leave the house Tuesday, and he encouraged fans to wear a mask and carry hand sanitizer with them.
NFL Network broadcaster Dan Hellie filled in on the Week 6 Red Zone Channel broadcast with Siciliano out.
Andrew Siciliano details positive COVID-19 test
As Siciliano explained Sunday, he tested negative throughout the week before turning in a positive test Sunday. Siciliano said he was tested again Sunday and turned in a negative result, but he decided to be safe and stay home.
In Tuesday’s video, Siciliano said that was the right move.
“We played it safe,” he said. “It was the right thing to do. Out of an abundance of caution, I know that sounds trite, but it really is the thing that we should all remember, always.”
Siciliano ended Tuesday’s message by saying it’s “time to move on.”
Prior to missing Sunday’s broadcast, Siciliano had appeared on 260 straight episodes. Here’s hoping he starts a new streak in Week 7.
