AFL fan slammed for 'low-dog act' at Etihad Stadium

An Essendon Bombers fan has copped a brutal dressing down online after posing as a disabled patron at Etihad Stadium to score cheap seats.

In an image uploaded to Reddit, the fan writes "hiring a mobility scooter and buying a $17 standing ticket at Etihad gets you in a $70 seats," alongside an image of his view of the game.

However the fan did not get the response he was hoping for as he was slammed by most who saw the post.

"Letting go of human decency: priceless," one Reddit user wrote.

His cheap move was also described as a "low-dog act" on Sunrise.

The fan, who was watching his side take on Fremantle on Sunday, attempted to defend himself on his post by writing, "I almost ran over a Dockers supporter so doesn’t that even things out?"

Other viewers of the post described his antics as pointless, considering the amount it would have cost him to hire a scooter for the night.

However the Bombers fan explained the scooter only cost him $4 per hour.

Meanwhile others supported his cheap move.

"Well played sir," wrote one Reddit user.

The man's wheelchair stunt brings back memories of a hilarious moment from the 2016 Australian Open in which a wheelchair-bound man jumped up from his seat to celebrate an incredible shot by Roger Federer.
