Crows stay top with strong win over Cats

They were made to work late but Adelaide have reaffirmed their premiership credentials with a 21-point win over Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Richard Douglas was the unlikely hero in the 13.19 (91) to 10.10 (70) win as he kicked four goals, but star midfielder Rory Sloane could pick up the three votes on Brownlow night in September.

Sloane, who played despite suffering a concussion against Melbourne last weekend, had up 28 disposals, seven clearances and seven tackles to go with three goals.

"One thing you can say is he's an absolute warrior," ruckman Sam Jacobs said of Sloane.

Former Crows champion Patrick Dangerfield managed 25 disposals and one goal for the Cats as he played through pain following last week's leg injury against Hawthorn.

Geelong could fall to third if GWS defeat Richmond on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.
