North fans' hilarious reaction to brutal Jarrad Waite miss

Jarrad Waite had an absolute shocker in North Melbourne's loss to Richmond, and the reaction of fans summed it up to a tee.

The Kangaroos star was running into an open goal for what should have been an easy major in the third term when he inexplicably decided to grubber kick the ball.

The odd shape of the AFL ball naturally sent it off it's intended path, resulting in a behind.

"What's he thinking?" gobsmacked commentators said. "Why would you do that?"

"It's a simple drop punt, it's hard to fathom why he would do that."

North fans sitting directly behind the goals couldn't believe what they'd seen, especially given their side was already trailing by a rather large margin late in the game.

Unfortunately for North it wasn't the only comical moment in the match, with coach Brad Scott finding it hard to contain his laughter after a Todd Goldstein venture into the forward 50 went horribly wrong:
