Franklin produces unbelievable 70 metre goal

By now we should be used to seeing Lance Franklin pull off the most unbelievable goals, but it doesn't stop being remarkable every time he does it.

With the Swans leading by just nine in the fourth quarter, Buddy had been kept relatively quiet all game by James Frawley, until he capped off this Sydney counter attack with a long-range 70 metre bomb.

Yep, that's where he kicked it from.
Yep, that's where he kicked it from.

The Swans bounced off half-back, pouncing on a wayward Hawks handball, then Callum Sinclair handed it off to Buddy 85 metres out......Buddy did the rest.

With the presence of mind to see no-one home in the Hawks goal square, Buddy revved up his left foot and slotted it home, to give the Swans a solid 15-point lead.

The win for Sydney was a huge positive, given the Hawks nearly clawed their way back from a huge defecit as they threatened to close out strong at the MCG.

In an emotional affair, both sets of fans took a moment to honour Jarryd Roughead with a standing ovation at the two minute mark of the second quarter as he continues his battle with cancer.
