The brutal miss that killed off the Crows

Paul Seedsman had a 20m set shot to give the Crows a late lead against the Cats - he missed, and Geelong booted the last four goals of the game.

The Crows were off-key against Geelong, with sloppy foot skills stunting their ball movement, but they managed to engineer a late rally.

Seedsman lined up for a regulation goal that would have seen his side take the lead and receive a huge boost, but he hooked it horribly for a behind.

You can't afford to give quality teams like Geelong that sort of let-off, and the Cats made the Crows pay.

"The last quarter was pretty much the story of the game: we didn't hold sway when we needed to and Geelong proved they were the better team," coach Don Pyke said.
