AFL women's star Moana Hope to marry model girlfriend

Wedding bells beckon for AFL women’s star Moana Hope.

The 30-year-old announced her engagement to model girlfriend Isabella Carlstrom on Instagram, uploading a photo of the latter proposing on one knee.

“I told her that if she ever wanted to Marry me she had to ask my dad,” Hope wrote.

“So she asked me to marry her at my Dads tombstone, so he was there when she asked me.”

Carlstrom’s proposal took place at the cemetery where Hope’s father is buried, fulfilling Hope’s request of asking permission.

“It could never, ever get anymore perfect then this,” Hope continued.

“I said yes, wedding bells are here.”

According to the Herald Sun, the couple have reportedly been dating for two years prior.

Hope opened up on her aspirations, and plans for the future with her partner.

“My greatest dream in life is to have a family, and who better to have a family with?” Hope said.

“If I had my way it would be tomorrow, but it’s model life and my finger is still bare (indicating her wedding finger).”

Her partner, Carlstrom, also posted on her social media accounts to divulge the exciting news.

“Keeping this a secret was exhausting!” Isabella Carlstrom wrote.

“I managed to catch her by surprise and the girl of my dreams said YES.”

The happy news is a welcome change for Mo Hope, who was only recently caught up in a controversy involving Mick Malthouse.

The North Melbourne marquee player stormed out of a function she was a key speaker at, after Malthouse allegedly made unsavoury comments about the women’s game.

“He said that AFL was a man’s game and not a woman’s game,” Hope told the Herald Sun.

“And he said that on stage in front of 50 kids who had just played a boys and girls game of football.

“He can have an opinion but then there’s just degrading and disrespectful comments.”
