Gruesome reason for AFL legend's strange interview quirk
AFL legend Luke Hodge was asked to explain an odd injury from his playing day, which was evident during a live-cross on the weekend.
The four-time premiership winner made the switch to broadcasting this year on Channel 7, but on Saturday evening fans noticed Hodge couldn’t close his right pinky finger around the microphone.

During a live-cross following the Brisbane Lions’ victory over the Bulldogs, panel host James Brayshaw asked if Hodge had a reason for the pointed right finger.
Turns out, Hodge has been quizzed about it before and the injury dates back to his playing days.
“I’m trying to close it. I can’t. I had an operation to start with about 10 years ago and then had another one a little bit further down the finger. It was like it was fused,” Hodge said on Channel 7.
“Jordan Lewis kicked a ball to me at the end, it flicked it and ruptured the tendon. I did that four times. Now that’s what you get. It is like when I’m having a cup of tea, I look real posh.
“I do get a lot of feedback saying why don’t you just swap hands, but it’s just not natural.”

Isaac Quaynor left with nasty injury
Sydney's Sam Wicks’ studs left Collingwood's Isaac Quaynor with a nasty gash in his leg last Thursday night.
Quaynor was taken off the field on a stretcher with a gash on his right shin late in the final term, after an incident involving Wicks.
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley suggested after the match that the Sydney player may have been wearing illegal metal studs, something the AFL probe will need to get to the bottom of.
The cut it left on Quaynor's leg was particularly gruesome, with viewers left squeamish after images began to emerge on social media.
