Josh Jenkins drops trade bombshell on Adelaide Crows

Josh Jenkins is set to depart Adelaide with the Crows and the key forward mutually agreeing to explore a move in this year's AFL trade period.

Jenkins fell out of favour this year and the Crows said they would work with him and manager Paul Connors to secure a trade.

"After recent conversations it became clear that it is in the best interests of both parties that Josh looks to reinvigorate his career at another club," Crows general manager of list and strategy Justin Reid said in a statement.

“We are committed to working closely with Josh and (agent Paul Connors) to ensure there is an outcome suitable for both parties.”

Jenkins played 11 games for the Crows in 2019, booting 22 goals.

The move comes after both Jenkins and the Crows struggled to recapture the scintillating form that brought them to a grand final appearance in 2017.

The forward isn’t the only star looking to part ways with the Crows this off-season, with ruckman Sam Jacobs also informing the club he was looking to make a change.

Players on the move

Jenkins isn’t the only South Australia-based star to seek a move, with Port Adelaide ruckman Paddy Ryder linked with a move to St Kilda.

The Power big man reportedly was tossing up moving to the Saints or returning to his former club Essendon, but eventually settled on St Kilda.

Star Fremantle winger Brad Hill has also been linked to the Saints, as both Western Australian clubs manoeuvre to make a move for wantaway Geelong star Tim Kelly.

Most of the player movement isn’t expected to properly kick off until after the AFL Grand Final this weekend.
