'Was I concussed?': Swans star exposes terrifying reality
The painful reality of concussion was on show on Friday night after Sydney ruckman Callum Sinclair was unable to realise he had been knocked out.
The 29-year-old slammed his head on the turf attempting a mark early in the fourth quarter against Hawthorn at the SCG.
He staggered to his feet attempting to stand before being helped from the field.
Incredibly, Sinclair put himself down on the mats for a rub down assuming he was off the field for a regular rotation.

A club official was seen informing the player he had been knocked out, while footage aired later in the broadcast showed Sinclair question teammate Aliir Aliir.
“Was I concussed?” he could be seen saying.
“Was I? Was I concussed?”
Sinclair made light of the situation in an interview with Channel 7’s Hamish McLachlan after the game.
“Thanks Richo,” he joked before confirming he had asked Aliir the question.
“I remember the whole game, I just had a rough few minutes and I got a bit agitated. I think the doctor fell on me on the bench as well.”
He even took the time to jab the teammate whose kick missed its target: “Maybe if Jake Lloyd hit me on the chest rather than diving for it I might’ve been able to finish out the game.”
Buddy’s 300th on hold
Sydney superstar Lance Franklin suffered a hamstring injury that is set to delay his 300th AFL game, which had been due to take place next weekend.
Franklin iced up his left hamstring late in the third term after booting four goals to help the Swans to take an eight-point lead at three-quarter time.
The four-time Coleman medallist said after the game it was “disappointing” and expected to miss at least a couple of weeks.
He had been caught on the bench for a significant amount of time before suffering the hamstring injury.
“Striding out, then a couple of contests in the forward pocket tested it,” Franklin told Channel 7 of feeling the strain so soon after re-entering the game.
