Port Adelaide great, turned AFL commentator, Kane Cornes has stunned viewers after sporting a new bleached blonde hair cut to replicate Magpies star Jack Ginnivan.

The Collingwood star drew criticism from Cornes in the first round of the AFL season when cameras picked up Ginnivan's antics post-match.

Cornes then called out Ginnivan for his antagonistic behaviour towards Geelong captain Joel Selwood a few weeks later.

However, Ginnivan has shown his prowess in front of the goal after a masterclass for the Magpies in their ANZAC Day heroics.

Ginnivan's five-goal effort lifted the Magpies to an 11-point win over Essendon in a thrilling Anzac Day encounter at the MCG.

And in a surprise move, Cornes turned up to Footy on Nine with his hair bleached blonde.

While his co-hosts were left scratching their heads, Cornes said Ginnivan's 'edge' had inspired the 39-year-old.

“I was just in at make-up a little bit earlier … and just (had) a bit of a touch-up,” Corners said.

Cornes' co-hosts were surprised, but the former player said he was inspired by the youngster.

“Let’s be honest: Jack Ginnivan’s got an edge. I was wrong, he kicked five on Anzac Day on the big stage," he added.

“There is something about this kid that I like, so I want the edge.

“There’s an edge about him and I’m on board and I love it.”

Magpies star Jack Ginnivan responds to criticism

The 19-year-old Magpies goalscorer recently responded to the criticism he has faced due to his antics in 2022.

The enigmatic star admitted he wasn't going to change to appease members of the public and said his swagger was here to stay.

“I‘m just trying to be myself,” Ginnivan told reporters last week.

“Whatever people say about me, I don’t really care. I know I’ve got people in my corner, supporting me, helping me backing me in.

“I love being competitive and I love when people doubt me. It gives me the edge to go out and show them what I‘ve got.

“That’s how I dealt with it (recent criticism).”

Many fans defended Ginnivan after the Collingwood young gun copped some poor treatment from Essendon fans in their last match.

The small forward was awarded the Anzac Day Medal as best on ground for his match-winning haul in the traditional blockbuster.

However the decision to give the medal to Ginnivan didn't go down well with some Essendon supporters, who booed the teenager when he was named.

Numerous Bombers fans had earlier been seen giving Ginnivan the middle finger after he kicked the opening goal and gestured for them to be quiet.
