Wife of AFL great Brendan Fevola, Alex Fevola, has opened up about her husband's cheating saga with model Lara Bingle in her new book.

Bingle, who is now goes by Lara Worthington after her marriage to Aussie actor Sam Worthington, was 19 years old when a romance started with the AFL star.

And Alex Fevola, wife of Brendan, has detailed the 'gut-wrenching' moment she suspected her husband was cheating on her back in 2006 in her new book, according to The Herald Sun.

The instagram star, Alex Fevola, has addressed the scandal that initially ended their relationship around 16 years ago.

In her new book, Silver Linings, the Instagram influencer revealed she suspected Fevola of some wrongdoing ahead of the 2006 Footy Show extravaganza.

This is despite not naming Worthington in the book, but rather referring to her as a 'young blonde model'.

“I felt insane even saying it but I knew it was true. I don’t know how I knew I just did. One of the reasons I felt this was because I knew Brendan very well and he’d mentioned every other person that was featuring on [The Footy Show], but he had never mentioned her. I knew exactly why," she wrote.

“It all made sense; the underlying self-doubt I’d been feeling, the distance. In a split-second the dread set in, that horrible gut-wrenching feeling knowing my life was about to become very complicated.”

Fevola said she only ever contacted Lara Worthington once, which resulted in a short phone call.

“I said, ‘It’s Alex Fevola, Brendan’s wife. Why are you doing this?’,” she wrote in her book.

Fevola said Worthington was silent.

Worthington hung up shortly after Fevola told her about the couple's new baby, according to the book.

Fevola said that was the confirmation she needed at the time.

Worthington has claimed she didn't know Brendan Fevola was married at the time.

Alex and Brendan were married in 2005, but were divorced in 2014.

They got back together shortly after their separation.

However, the couple's relationship has never been stronger as they look after four daughters.
