Adrian Peterson, Le'Veon Bell to fight in boxing exhibition in July
Why not, right?
Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell are getting into the boxing game next month.
The two former NFL running backs will square off in a heavyweight boxing exhibition at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on July 30, according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger. The fight will take place ahead of the YouTuber bout between Austin McBroom and AnEsonGib.

The fight is just an exhibition, so it won’t count as either of their official debuts in the sport. Former NBA player Nick Young is also on the undercard, where he’ll take on rapper Blueface.
Peterson, 37, is currently a free agent after spending time last season with both the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks, though he only played in four games. He’s currently fifth on the league’s all-time rushing yards list, and eventually said he will retire as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, where the former MVP spent the first 10 seasons of his career. Peterson still hasn’t officially retired.
Bell is also a free agent. The 30-year-old split last season with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which marked his fourth team in two seasons. The former Steelers star has struggled to find a home since leaving Pittsburgh, where he spent his first five seasons.
Though neither have fought professionally before, pitting two great running backs against each other in the ring is sure to make for an entertaining bout, at the very least.
