Absolute cracker: Internet erupts over bizarre biscuit trophy
Social media has erupted after images of arguably the strangest trophy in the history of world sport went viral.
If you believe in omens, then Pakistan’s upcoming T20 series against Australia is set to be an absolute ‘cracker’ judging by the prize the teams are vying for.
In what has to go down as one of the weirdest pieces of silverware ever seen in professional sport, the teams will essentially be playing for a giant biscuit mounted on top of metallic stumps.
The photo of Australia captain Aaron Finch and Pakistani counterpart Sarfraz Ahmed posing next to the giant cracker trophy left fans in hysterics on social media.
Giving taking the biscuit a whole new meaning! https://t.co/YA1B7O3lUk

I’m predicting Pakistan will win the trophy, because that biscuit should motivate them to play out of their skins. Australians may deliberately under perform to avoid taking that trophy back to Australia.

I’m crackers for this series!

Even the International Cricket Council decided to get in on the trolling action, but the organisation’s attempted humour didn’t sit well with some fans.
You vs the trophy she told you not to worry about. pic.twitter.com/DUGWKWFTbE

This is @ICC which stands for INTERNATIONAL Cricket Board and see their posts, full time supporting India and against Pakistan. #ShameICC

All the politics aside, official international cricket governing body shouldn’t stoop to a troll account. #Delete

The three-match T20 series – which (in case you didn’t guess) has been sponsored by cracker company TUC – is set to get underway on Thursday morning (AEDT).
The Aussies will need to reverse their form from the recent Test series defeat to the Pakistanis if they’re to be any hope of taking home the biscuit.
