Aberdeen v Hearts, Igamane & Valakari in focus
While you may have already taken a break from adhering to your 2025 resolutions, there is no rest for those in the Scottish Premiership.
The flood of football keeps on coming with two more games to look forward to this Sunday - should they survive the freezing temperatures that have already caused postponements further down the SPFL pyramid.
Whether you're braving the bitter conditions in the stands or spending a weekend slouching on the couch all cosied up, here's a few things to look out for.
Game of weekend - Aberdeen v Heart of Midlothian
When these sides last met at Pittodrie in October, Aberdeen were unbeaten and second in the league, while Hearts were bottom without a win.
How times have changed.
Jimmy Thelin's side are stuck in a winless rut, having gone 10 games without victory – including five defeats on the trot. They have slipped down to fourth.
After their latest defeat by Motherwell, where they also lost defender Slobodan Rubezic to a red card, the Swede conceded his side have "problems to solve".
They need to do so quickly if they are to avoid matching their worst losing streak of seven since December 2010.
Amid this slump, where they appear short of the confidence that developed through their 11-game unbeaten run at the start of the season, they have often given themselves an uphill battle, conceding the first goal in seven games since their last win.
While it makes for grim reading, the glimmer of hope is Hearts are in town. The Dons have not lost to Hearts at home in the Scottish Premiership since May 2017.
In fact, none of the past 22 games between these sides has been won by the away side (17 home wins, five draws), with Aberdeen the last visiting side to win this fixture in May 2017.
However, Neil Critchley's side are two from two in 2025 and are eyeing up three league wins in a row for the first time since February last year.
On the back of arguably their best win under head coach Critchley against Dundee United on Sunday, the maroon mood music has changed for the better since the Boxing Day derby defeat by Hibernian.
At the heart of that has been James Penrice, who grabbed the crucial goal at Tannadice. The former Livingston man has been a bright spark in an often dull season for the Gorgie side.
If Hearts are to end their Pittodrie hoodoo on Sunday, the left-back will no doubt have a part to play.
Player to watch - Hamza Igamane (Rangers)
Hamza Igamane is the man of the moment for Rangers - and has played a major role in keeping manager Philippe Clement in a job.
Having been viewed as a long-term project when signed from AS FAR in his native Morocco last summer, the striker has in recent months become the go-to man up front.
If it was not for his 11 goals - seven in the Premiership - with a double in the 2-2 draw with Motherwell and hat-trick in the 3-3 thriller with Hibernian, the Ibrox side could have slipped even further than their current 18 points behind leaders Celtic.
Igamane's emergence has been crucial for Clement along with Ianis Hagi's four league assists since the classy Romania midfielder returned to the fold after a contractual issue.
No wonder that, when Patrick Stewart took a special media conference on Saturday to stress the board's continued backing for Clement, the new chief executive vowed that Rangers have no intention of selling Igamane in the January transfer window.
Manager in spotlight - Simo Valakari (St Johnstone)
Simo Valakari has been in the spotlight since joining St Johnstone. But not for the positive reasons.
Eight points adrift and eight games without a win, the Perthshire Saints need to turn a corner and do so at speed.
The head coach admitted in the aftermath of the 3-1 defeat by Dundee that relegation is "a big possibility" and said in his press conference on Thursday he doesn't blame players for not wanting to join the club in January.
Not exactly a rallying cry, nor is it what St Johnstone fans will want to hear as additions appear a necessity for a team devoid of cohesion and confidence.
Positive results are paramount, and while few will fancy their chances against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday, the performance and scoreline cannot afford to be disastrous.
The Finn has found himself in a downward spiral since pitching up in Perth. He desperately needs to find a lifeline before he, and the Saints, sink any deeper.
