Good samaritans Ashutosh Mehta & Jayesh Rane rush to the aid of suffering Mizoram people

Ashutosh Mehta and Jayesh Rane, who played a huge role in Mizoram's Aizawl FC winning the I-League this season, have decided to extend a helping hand to ailing people in their adopted state which has been battered by continuous rainfall over the last few days.

The former Mumbai FC players have started a fundraising campaign to help out the crisis-stricken people of Mizoram. The state has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past three days and the unprecedented amounts of precipitation has caused widespread destruction.

More than 350 houses have been submerged in flash floods while about 80 other families have been evacuated. 10 people have also lost their lives in the crisis. In short, normal life has been hit badly in the state and the adopted sons of the state, who brought Mizoram its first ever league title in May, have stepped up to do whatever they can.

In a Facebook post, Jayesh Rane and Ashutosh Mehta appeals to their fans to donate money which will be used to buy blankets, food supplies and drinking water to the stranded and affected people.

A commendable effort from the duo indeed!
