Andre Johnson to retire from NFL as member of Texans

Andre Johnson will sign a one-day contract with the Texans Wednesday to retire as a member of the franchise he helped build from the ground up.

Johnson, the Texans' second first-round draft pick after becoming an expansion team in 2002,has enjoyedwhat could be a Hall of Fame career.He is Houston's all-time leader in nearly every receiving category including career receptions (1,012), receiving yards (13,597), receiving touchdowns (64) and 100-yard games (51).

After12 seasons with the Texans, Johnson signed with the Colts in 2015 and played half of the 2016 season with the Titans, bringing his career totals to1,062 receptions for 14,185 yards and 70 touchdowns. Hehad seven 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career and made the Pro Bowl seven times.

The University of Miami productalso holds multiple individual game records for the Texans, including most receptions (14), receiving yards (273) and receiving touchdowns (three) in a game.
