Dolphins owner explains why he voted against Raiders' move to Las Vegas

The Oakland Raiders will now become the Las Vegas Raiders after 31 NFL owners voted in favor of allowing the move. The one owner who opposed it? That would be the MiamiDolphins' Stephen Ross.

You might be wondering why Ross voted against, as were many others, so he offered up a brief explanation in a statement.

"My position today was that we as owners and as a league owe it to the fans to do everything we can to stay in the communities that have supported us until all options have been exhausted," Ross said."I want to wish Mark Davis and the Raiders organization the best in Las Vegas."

A few years ago, Ross was in favor of the Rams' move to Los Angeles, saying afterwards, "Everybody won." Then he was asked what about St. Louis to which he responded, "Well, somebody has to lose."

As for his latest comments, he reflects his word with his actions. He has made efforts to keep the Dolphins in Miami, including spending more than $500 millionin private funds to renovate the stadium.
