Tom Brady's missing Super Bowl jerseys back in Boston

Tom Brady's Super Bowl jerseys are backinFoxborough where they belong.

The two stolen jerseys worn by the Patriots quarterback during Super Bowls 49 and 51 were returned to the team Thursday after being recovered in Mexico earlier this week.

The FBI's Boston bureau included astatement with atweeted photo of Patriots owner Robert Kraft posing with two agents holding the jerseys:

"Today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Boston is pleased to return the jerseys worn by New England Patriots MVP Tom Brady during Super Bowl 49 and Super Bowl 51 to the New England Patriots and National Football League. We know how much this means to the Patriots and football fans everywhere, and we are honored to be able to bring these jerseys back to Foxboro.

"This was truly a cooperative effort, and we want to thank our FBI field offices in Chicago, Phoenix, and Houston; the United States Attorney’s Offices in the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of Texas, and the District of Arizona; and our FBI Mexico City Legal Attaché. We would also like to thank our law enforcement partners in Mexico, in particular, the Mexican Attorney General’s Office, for their invaluable assistance in resolving this matter. Assistance was also provided by the security teams from the NFL and the New England Patriots, the Massachusetts State Police, and Houston Police Department."

Authorities revealed Monday the suspected theif isMauricio Ortega, aformer executive of a newspaper in Honduras called Diario La Prensa. The paperreportedlyknew he was the culprit a few days ago andfired him.

"It was great to have both jerseys returned to Gillette Stadium today," Kraft said in a statement. "I don’t know that any agency could have accomplished this independently, but collectively multiple agencies — both in the U.S. and in Mexico — worked together to achieve the goal of retrieving the stolen property. It is another example of the importance of teamwork and what can be accomplished when everyone works together."
