Young crying fan scores precious memento

Tears of pain turned into tears of joy for a young baseball fan after a touching gesture from the New York Mets, during their MLB game against Miami Marlins.

The small boy was sitting behind the Mets’ dugout when a foul ball struck him on the arm, as he was watching from the front row.

The little fella wheeled away in pain, with tears streaming down his face, as his dad threw the ball back onto the field.

Seeing the anguish the boy was in, second baseman Neil Walker took it upon himself to take the ball around the dugout and get a bunch of Mets players to sign it for him.

The joy was evident on the young fan’s face and his ecstatic father as they received the treasured keepsake, with the Mets even throwing in a baseball bat for good measure.

After a thumb-up from the boy, the commentator rightly pointed out, “that’s called taking one for the family right there.”

Good job little man.
