The 2024 Paris Paralympics are well into the competition phase, and there are some seriously awesome para swimming photos from Paris La Defense Arena.
On Thursday, athletes in both men's and women's events competed in swims such as the 400-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter freestyle. Italy won the day, taking home six medals. Australia was right behind with four medals; the U.S. made the podium thrice with silver medals.
Team USA swimmer Ellie Marks made the winner's circle for the second consecutive Paralympics in the women’s 50m freestyle-s6 final, and fellow US swimmer Christie Raleigh-Crossley earned a medal in the women’s 50m freestyle-s10. Their colleague, swimmer Grace Nuhfer, also took home silver hardware in the women's 100m butterfly-s13 final.
