12 NBA players (De'Aaron Fox!) involved in the latest trade rumors before the 2025 deadline
As we approach the 2025 NBA trade deadline, there are several big names who could find their way onto new teams.
Since we last did this exercise, one of the main players (Jimmy Butler) circulated in rumors remains the same. But there are a few other notable potential moves to keep an eye on, including Sacramento point guard De'Aaron Fox finding a new home.
While we won't know how explosive this deadline is until it has actually passed, the intel on the hot stove is heating up.
Using the latest rumors around the league while linking out to the original reporting, we compiled a list of some of the other most interesting names who may be on the move.
1. De'Aaron Fox
Considering that De’Aaron Fox has “no intention” of extending his contract in Sacramento, while he did not make a trade request, the Kings will instead look to get some value back for their point guard. While he likely won’t fetch a return similar to what the Jazz received for Donovan Mitchell, there are several teams we should expect to have serious interest in putting in an offer for Fox. As we mentioned earlier this week, that includes: Spurs, Rockets, Magic, and Heat. However, “more than half” of the teams in the league have reportedly inquired about Fox.
2. Jimmy Butler
It is currently impossible to talk about NBA trade rumors without at least mentioning Jimmy Butler. While we have covered his interest in leaving Miami and the subsequent disciplinary actions that have followed, there is still plenty of interest around the league as the Heat are now “determined” to find a deal. The Suns remain the “most aggressive” but not the only team with a potential fit at a potentially cheap price. The Pelicans have come up as the latest suitors, joining the Warriors and perhaps the Bucks.
3. Zach LaVine
One of the most intriguing names potentially available on the trade market is Chicago’s Zach LaVine, though he may actually prefer to stay with the Bulls. The front office is receiving calls for LaVine and potential suitors include the Warriors and Kings. Meanwhile, although the Lakers expressed interest earlier this season, the Bulls could not fetch Austin Reaves in return. A rumored suitor, the Nuggets, are now considered an unlikely trade partner.
It is also worth noting that while the Bulls are potentially not ready to part with Lonzo Ball after he has spent his entire recovery process with the organization, he has reportedly generated “multiple trade feelers” from rivals including the Lakers. He was also mentioned as a potential buyout target for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
4. Brandon Ingram
The New Orleans Pelicans are considered more likely to trade than extend forward Brandon Ingram But interest in Ingram is not tremendous right now due to his injuries. Atlanta is perhaps the main team that keeps coming up in conversations about Ingram. One team to potentially watch is the Raptors, even if they are simply doing their due diligence. The Kings are a team that may have interest, too. He could potentially make sense as a trade chip if the Pelicans trade for Butler as well. The Jazz were an option, too, until they learned he would not sign a long-term extension in Utah.
5. Nikola Vucevic
Chicago’s Nikola Vucevic has come forward and said that he would like to play somewhere that is in “win-now” mode. One potential suitor includes the Warriors, who reportedly prefer to offer second-round picks rather than the first-round pick that Chicago is seeking. Another team to watch here is the Suns. Meanwhile, however, the Lakers are not expected to make a run at Vucevic at this time. Either way, though, the Bulls are expected to find a new home for their big man who is perhaps the best player at his position available (especially if the Pacers do not end up moving Myles Turner).
6. Cameron Johnson
While he is currently injured, Brooklyn’s Cameron Johnson is highly coveted. Potential suitors include the Kings (even if that is unlikely at this point), the Cavaliers (who come up a lot), the Pacers, the Thunder or even the Grizzlies. It would reportedly take more than one first-round pick to land his services, pricier than it was for Dorian Finney-Smith.
7. Bradley Beal
Although he was moved to the bench, at this point, the Suns have reportedly not actually had any conversations with Bradley Beal (who has a no-trade clause) about a potential move. Beal, whose agent said they would consider waiving his no-trade clause, is also comfortable remaining with the Suns. The Bulls are one of the teams that has had conversations with Phoenix about a potential transaction. While winning is apparently his main priority, colder-weather cities like Chicago are not interesting to him. Another team not on the radar is the Bucks.
8. Chris Boucher
Toronto is reportedly involved in a “number of conversations” for trades involving players including Chris Boucher Some of his potential suitors include the Nuggets (where he has “fans” within the organization), Knicks, and Clippers. A contract extension is also a possibility for Toronto and Boucher.
Toronto could also move Bruce Brown (who they are “very motivated” to trade), Kelly Olynyk, and Davion Mitchell. For what it is worth: The Raptors have “resisted mounting trade interest” in Jakob Poeltl, though the rest of the league is still likely keeping tabs on his availability even if it may cost “more than one” first-round pick.
9. Clint Capela
Atlanta’s Clint Capela was recently moved to the bench to get more minutes for Onyeka Okongwu, which makes him a potentially appealing trade candidate in the final year of his contract. There are reportedly “multiple teams” with interest in Capela, who remains available, although the Lakers are not one of them.
His teammate De’Andre Hunter is reportedly drawing some interest as a potential trade piece for the Hawks as well. He could make sense as a fit in the framework of a bigger deal involving the Nuggets.
10. John Collins
Utah’s John Collins was reportedly nearly traded to the Kings, though perhaps that may change based on what Sacramento’s office decides to do with Fox. He was also included in trade talks involving the Pelicans. Another potential fit for Collins is the Golden State Warriors. We can expect that the Jazz will remain active in their pursuit of finding a new home for Collins.
11. Jusuf Nurkic
Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic is no longer in the rotation for his team and has said he has “no relationship” with Phoenix head coach Mike Budenholzer. One team to consider for Nurkic is the Hawks, who had conversations about a potential deal. It is reportedly “a challenge” to move Nurkic thus far as he does not have a ton of value. In fact, after Phoenix unsuccessfully attempted to trade him to the Hornets, the Suns may have to attach draft assets to move on from his services. He has said that he is prepared for a trade if it happens.
12. Bogdan Bogdanovic
There is reportedly “rising confidence” that the Hawks will trade veteran Bogdan Bogdanovic, who had missed significant time with injury this season. Atlanta is “actively exploring” his market and among his potential suitors include the Suns and the Heat. The Nuggets also make sense as one of his fits, reuniting him with his fellow Serbian countryman Nikola Jokic.
