Lingerie football to debut in Australia

Sweaty, scantily-clad fit females are about to take the field in a modified version of American Football called the Ladies Football League.

An off-shoot of the US-based Lingerie Football League, the game sees participants dressed in nothing but lingerie and protective padding face-off in an 11-on-11 full-contact competition.

Queensland resident Tala Schultz is the brains behind the beautiful game and told the Herald Sun the uniforms weren't all about exploitation.

"It (lingerie) adds femininity to the game and just highlights that even hot athletic chicks can hit as hard and run as fast as some of the guys.

"I'm not about making a statement about gender. I'm making a statement about the possibility for anyone to perform."

Schultz confirmed interest for the sport came from a wide range of backgrounds.

"The majority are studying. There are a couple of lawyers, some studying medicine, others are full time athletes and soccer girls."

South-east Queensland will play host to the first game with Schultz touring the sport to promote the league and look for recruits.

"We're looking forward to it. We've got a lot of support from businesses. I'd like to collaborate with sport community, business and government."

"It's a very physically demanding sport. If you like pushing your body to the limit then it's perfect. It's not for the faint hearted."
