Jordan Silk pulls off one of cricket's greatest ever catches

Jordan Silk has lived up to his reputation as one of the best fielders in Australia, pulling off a sensational catch in the Big Bash League.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has raved about the fielding ability of his former state teammate and Silk showed what all the hype was about with a game-changing catch on the Gabba on Thursday night.

With Brisbane Heat seemingly on the way to victory of Silk’s Sydney Sixers, Heat batsman Craig Kieswetter swatted a Brett Lee delivery low and flat down the ground.

The ball was seemingly headed to the boundary before Silk dove full length to his left and plucked the ball with one hand as he was suspended in the air.

The catch turned the game Sydney’s way, with Brisbane falling just four runs short of victory.

“I think it's a fluke. It was nice that it stuck,” Silk said after the game.

Silk's catch revived memories of the greatest catches ever seen on a cricket field, including one taken by Queensland’s Adam Dale at the same ground 15 years ago.
