Yorkshire have appointed John Sadler as the club's new batting coach ahead of the 2025 season.

Sadler had previously been head coach of Northamptonshire until leaving Wantage Road in September.

Dewsbury-born Sadler, 42, who played for his home county, Leicestershire and Derbyshire, will work under new head coach Anthony McGrath at Headingley.

"Having come through the Yorkshire Pathways and started my playing career with the White Rose, I know how important cricket is in the county and am excited by the tremendous opportunity ahead of us," he told the club's website.

Yorkshire are preparing for their first season in Division One of the County Championship after a two-year absence.
