Yilmaz and McCausland injury worries for Rangers

Turkey's Ridvan Yilmaz receives treatment
Ridvan Yilmaz had been handed a rare start for Turkey in Friday's friendly

Rangers manager Philippe Clement will be anxiously awaiting news of Ridvan Yilmaz after the left-back was forced off after only 27 minutes of Turkey's 1-0 friendly defeat in Hungary.

The 22-year-old, who has recently deposed Croatia's Borna Barisic as first-choice under the Belgian, had been handed his seventh cap and first international start in two years but came off with an upper thigh injury.

Yilmaz was later sent home from international duty, with a statement from Turkey saying he was removed from the squad due to the injury.

Meanwhile, Rangers winger Ross McCausland is likely to miss out again through injury for Northern Ireland as Michael O'Neill looks to build on Friday's 1-1 draw in Romania when his side face Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, it looks like Ross McCausland won't make it," O'Neill said of the 20-year-old. "It would have been nice to get Ross the opportunity."
