WWE superstar Seth Rollins has detailed the 'terrifying' moment a fan attacked him during a live TV show this week.

On Monday, Rollins was talking to the camera for a promo following a match as he headed back up the entrance ramp when a fan was seen charging towards him.

The wrestler didn't see the fan until the last second before he was tackled and held down.

Rollins fought back as the referee and security intervened and grabbed the intruder.

The WWE universe reacted in shock at the scary incident.

While Rollins said he was not injured during the attack, he admitted it was 'terrifying' when he didn't know what was happening.

“It’s terrifying, brother. It happened very quickly," he told TMZ Sport.

I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security would come and do their job. Which they did very quickly.

"And then was just trying to detach and move on. Hope that everybody is okay. Once the tackle happened I knew what was going on. The guy was barreling around the corner. No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe.

"Everything was okay. I think as a precedence he probably should not be allowed at the events.”

Rollins was able to get back to his feet and stay in character after the scary incident.

The fan was arrested following the incident.

"WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously," a WWE statement read.

"The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Rollins, 35, is married to fellow WWE star Becky Lynch.

He had just finished a segment working with Finn Balor at the Barclays Center before the attack.
