WWE star Roman Reigns won’t get a chance to defend his title against Brock Lesnar just yet.

Reigns was a late scratch from WWE’s “Day 1” pay-per-view event in Atlanta on Saturday after he tested positive for COVID-19. Reigns was going to try and defend his WWE Universal Championship title against Lesnar.

“I yearn to perform tonight at WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship,” he wrote on Twitter. “However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols, I am unable to compete as scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.”

It’s unclear if Reigns is experiencing any symptoms, or when he will be able to return.

Reigns is a two-time cancer survivor. He was first diagnosed with leukemia in 2007, and it returned in 2018. He skipped WrestleMania 36 in 2020 and stepped away from WWE briefly that year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lesnar, the former UFC heavyweight champion, will instead take part in a Fatal 5-Way and go up against current champion Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley
