Perth Wildcats centre Majok Majok has been ruled out of the NBL season due to an achilles tendon injury.

Majok suffered the rupture at training on Wednesday and scans have since confirmed the extent of the damage.

The 27-year-old will undergo surgery and is set to be sidelined for about nine months.

Majok was entering the second season of his two-year contract with the Wildcats and his future is now unclear.

He averaged 3.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in the team's Championship-winning campaign last season.

The Wildcats have begun their search for a replacement player.
