Shocking new footage has emerged of the moments before police discovered a man’s decomposing body, the day after another man was charged with his murder.
Family members living out-of-state first raised the alarm with police that prompted them to conduct a welfare check on 69-year-old Tomislav Nemes on April 17.
When officers visited his Benowa home they discovered his remains.
A 48-year-old man was charged with his murder on Tuesday.
Now police have released the bodycam footage worn by police that reveals what happened in the moments leading up to the grim discovery.
The footage shows police scaling a fence to gain entry to his backyard before knocking on his backdoor.
A second clip shows police engaging with a person at the back door before they enter the home.
Another shot shows the living room of the home, speaking with two people.
Police are hoping the footage might encourage more witnesses to come forward with information that can help them understand what happened to Mr Nemes.
Police are urging any friends, family or associates of Mr Nemes or the other occupants at the property, along with anyone who has visited his home in recent years, to come forward.
Investigations remain ongoing.
The 48-year-old is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
