West Ham midfielder Ziu suffers second ACL injury
West Ham midfielder Jessica Ziu has suffered her second ACL injury in less than two years after injuring her anterior cruciate ligament injury in a behind closed doors pre-season friendly on Thursday.
The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international only returned from another ACL injury, which ruled her out for over a year, last November.
This meant Ziu missed Ireland's 2023 World Cup campaign in New Zealand and Australia last summer.
She will undergo surgery before beginning her rehabilitation programme at the Hammers' Chadwell Heath training ground.
Following her return from her initial ACL injury, Ziu made four appearances in the Women's Super League last season.
