All-weather £800k pitch officially opened
A new all-weather football pitch has been officially opened in Worcester.
The floodlit pitch at Perdiswell Leisure Centre cost £824,000, with £624,000 paid for by the Premier League, The FA and the government’s Football Foundation.
The city council said there had been a shortage of artificial pitches and Perdiswell was seen as a priority location.
Robert Sullivan, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said: "Good quality playing facilities have a transformative impact on physical and mental health."
Work on the pitch was finished in July and the council said it had been well used since then.
