We were determined to lift GTBank Masters Cup, says Queens College's Mblonwu

Chioma Mblonwu says despite the pressure mounted by Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls High School, Queens College were determined to defend their GTBank Masters Cup title.

Mblonwu was the hero of the day for her side after her strikes in the 24th and 47th minutes ensured the Yaba side dispatched of their Itire counterparts.

She laid their bravery to match their feat in the last edition of the school competition to their determination to succeed.

"I feel very excited and happy. The team is very happy," Mblonwu told Goal.

"The truth of the matter is that we felt a little pressure [from Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls High School] but everyone had at the back of their minds that we must make it. If the ones before us did it, we can.

"They did very well, they performed very well," she acknowledged.

Mblonwu, a SSS 3 student, believes even without her services, Queens College are ready for GTBank Masters Cup next year.

"Next year our next team must match our feat and with the kind of team I'm leaving behind, they'll definitely play better," she concluded.
