Bad Boys 4's first trailer has arrived, confirming the new movie's official title and revealing a surprise return.

The new movie, officially titled Bad Boys: Ride or Die, will arrive in cinemas on June 5 in the UK and June 7 in the US.

In a twist to the formula, the trailer reveals that Will Smith's Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence's Marcus Burnett will be on the run after their former captain is accused of corruption.

Despite being killed off in Bad Boys for Life, Joe Pantoliano is making a surprise return as Captain Howard in the new movie. He's still dead, but the trailer shows a message he left for the duo that surely confirms he's not really corrupt.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die also brings back Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Paola Núñez as AMMO members Kelly, Dorn and Lieutenant Rita Secada, respectively, from the previous movies.

Jacob Scipio also returns as Mike's son Armando Aretas, while Tasha Smith has taken over from Theresa Randle as Marcus's wife Theresa Burnett and other newcomers include Eric Dane as the villain Banker.

Behind the scenes, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have returned as directors and the new movie has been written by Bad Boys for Life co-writer Chris Bremner.

Following its release in January 2020, Bad Boys for Life received the best reviews of the series to date, while it also made the most money of the three movies so far with an impressive $426.5 million worldwide.

Smith released the first look at the movie earlier this month when filming finally wrapped, having been affected by the strikes in Hollywood last year.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is released in UK cinemas on June 5 and in US cinemas on June 7.
