Watch: Biden welcomes NBA champion Boston Celtics to White House
President Biden hosted the 2024 NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, at the White House Tuesday afternoon.
The Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals in June to secure their 18th championship. With the win, Boston overtook the Los Angeles Lakers for the most titles in league history.
After their win, Biden posted on social platform X, sending his congratulations.
“Congrats @celtics, the 2023-2024 NBA Champions and now the all-time NBA leader with 18 titles,” he wrote at the time. “A true legacy of excellence.”
The event was scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. EST.
